We are delighted to offer this set of first edition local history books, written by Gerald E. Naftaly, longtime Oak Park councilman and Mayor. Northland Mall shares the stories and pictures of the life of Northland, from its start until its rebirth as a newly conceptualized space. Oak Park History portrays the story of this suburb of Detroit, with photos and historical references. The Hill That Grew is a children's book about Hamilton Hill (in David H. Shepherd Park) the children's sledding hill, and Naftaly published it as its 60th anniversary, this time with historical photos and facts included.
Additionally, Naftaly is including an exclusive polished bookmark of "The Boy and Bear" by Marshall M. Fredericks, the sculpture that was at Northland for decades. It now resides at the Southfield Public Library.
If you are an Oak Parker or a lover of history and your own memories, this set is for you!
Note: All books are first edition copies.
